Veyronsupercharge.com Blogger Change

This is for the people who link to me, if you could, please change the URL you are using, the blogspot.com URL, to the new domain name. The new URL for the blog is: http://blog.veyronsupercharge.com/. It will help out when I make the change to the new blog that Vint has helped out with.

Vint, My Heroine

Vint has done a real favor to me with my new blog layout. I’m fairly incompetent with PC graphics design and Vint is far above excellent with it. She volunteered at the chance to help me out, even with the SLart show at the Cannery about to start. I’ve already taken a sneak peak at it, and it is something you should all see. Great stuff.

Anyhow, as promised…. I give to Vint Falken, one gift certificate of appreciation. Lifelong modeling slave for whatever the bearer needs, wearing whatever (or less) the photographer needs. I can’t thank her enough. When I have the new blog up, I think you’ll all like the look of it.

Too Much Wine and a Party and Dark Eden

A party at Dark Eden last night lived up to it’s reputation - at least that’s why my hazy recollection is. It’s almost as bad as Anyway, there are some great freebies right now and probably only for a short while longer at Dark Eden. Two complete outfits and of course a SLCC ‘07 commemorative dildo - with the SL logo mounted right on (ahem) point.

Anyway, I did my best to make sure the party was lively with Etain Peregrin…. Etain is the designer at Dark Eden, and an all around great time just waiting to happen. I do want to state for the record, that moi had fewer clothes on than Etain for at least 15 minutes. :)

I also had a lot of fun test driving a new toy of Charissa’s, and she enjoyed that too. Charissa Korvin owns The Devil Made Me Do It and is just as much fun as Etain.

I’d include some pictures, but I’m too groggy to process them and um, I think my blog would get moved to another section in blogger…..

Gideon Escapes….

It seems Gideon Television (Superstar) has escaped from the asylum - and explains his long absence. I suppose the asylum was better than being locked up in Big Brother. It seems Gideon is going to be going through the Seven Deadly sins for his next blogging season, - Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Lust, Anger, Envy and Pride. I wonder if I’m in one of these…. Hmmm….

You Twit…..

Okay, I am behind the curve, I’m giving another time addicting thing a whirl, Twitter. Zoe is doing it, I kinda looked at BlogHUD as more of a SL Twitter, but maybe this is something else to play with.

Anyone else Twittering?

Whine, bitch, moan

I know, I know, I’m at it again…. I have to agree with dinee I’m bitching. Maybe it will make me feel better by ventilating. So, my home sim got disconnected from everywhere a few days ago. No, it didn’t crash. I could go into it, move around, etc, ad nausem. Just want’s connected anywhere else anymore. And if you tp’ed to a neighboring sim, there was a giant hole where it should be. It took the private sim owners hours to get LL to fix it. I feel bad for them having to deal with problems like this.

Oh, and just when it looked like teleporting was working really well in the last few months, it’s now mostly once again, an exercise in frustration. I think the real issue about bitching is that Second Life is really cool. And we all want it to be a good experience. I tried out There.com for grins, and after about 3.2 minutes, I determined, it was a joke. But I did see there were a lot more Avatars in the same area then you would ever see in Second Life.

Hmm, I think the Project Open Letter campaign was not a total loss. Maybe that shows that complaining does do some good. Time will tell.

Next Blogger Party Theme

By a majority, Super Hero’s is the winner for this month’s Blogger Party theme with 40% of the votes. JellyBean Madison and her husband HawksRock Gunawan will be hosting. It should be amusing to see what sort of Super Hero’s will be showing up….

It’s all Tiessa’s Fault….

I find myself getting more and more kinky since the Dark Eden party in my clothing choices. I had a fun time dancing with Zoe, but there was no way the two of us could keep up with Etain…. This is an interesting phenomenon. We’ll have to see how long it lasts. I blame it all on Tiessa….. :) Eloria took a picture of me in the latest black incarnation. The lacetex is from Kayliwulf Kingdom, the boots are from Dark Eden (of course), the hair is from Calico, the collar (which has a working digital clock) is from Bitter Thorns, and the cuffs are from Lulu’s.

What’s worse is the pink version of this…. dinee caught me last night in it….

Ego Surfing….

An amusing little thing to do is Ego Surfing. With the unusual names that most of us avatars have, this is a pretty easy thing to do. For example, try a search on Google for “October Hush”. You’re pretty much guaranteed to find only hits for the lovely Miss Hush. It’s interesting to see where you’re name is coming up in other places; sometimes places you would be surprised.

Google has a feature called Google Alerts that you can setup to send you an email when it finds a search term or terms you specify. So - say I want to stalk the lovely Miss Hush’s activity on the Internet, I can setup Google to do most of the work for me…. :)

Usefulness of the BlogHUD

I’ve been using BlogHUD now for a while and I’ve found it to be kinda fun and useful. What I really like is the upload snapshot feature where you send a postcard to BlogHUD and then they post it. I tend not to use the actually HUD that much, because it doesn’t include a picture. It’s something like SnapZilla, but you can link BlogHUD into your “real” blog. I’m working on doing something more like that.

I am working on some layout changes or blogging software changes to accommodate the shots.

The biggest part of shooting pictures with the BlogHUD is what is called in the photographic world reportage photography. Rather than artistic photography, something that Vint does, this is more of a picture as I see it. Second Life changes so fast that it can be disconcerting at times. What’s here today is gone tomorrow, usually without any warning. People disappear. I started looking at BlogHUD of a photo album of my life and experiences in Second Life from time to time.

And everyone now and then I score a candid shot, or a famous Second Life person, or even myself having way to much fun flirting, just like any reporter does….

If you don’t blog now, you can get a limited copy of the BlogHUD for free and the full features version is L$900 with lifetime upgrades. Actually a pretty cheap price. Give it a try, you might really enjoy it and save some of your own memories.

Forsaken Lil Nekos

The Ginko Bank insolvency has actually hit someone I know. Saur Holt seems to have taken a real financial hit on the events. She’s upset about it, and alas I’m sure there’s nothing to be done about it. To try to help her financially recover, she is running buy two outfits over 250L and get one FREE of same or close to same price. After you buy two outfit send Saur Holt a notecard with your name and the name of outfit, at the end of the day she will look over her records and send the outfit to you.

Vint Falken
took this great picture of me dancing in one of Saur’s really cool dollie outfits. It comes complete with a pull string (but the AO is not completed yet).

So - if you feel the need to expend some Lindens on some cool outfits, head over to Saur’s store at Forsaken Enterprises (148, 223, 501).

New Domain…

Okay, so it looks like I might be doing this insanity for a while, so I bit the bullet and got a domain…. VeyronSupercharge.com is now operational. The main page is lame right now - I’m working on it, but the blog is being redirected. I have the blog redirecting by Feedburner, so if you subscribed using Feedburner - which as been the default for sometime, you won’t need to change anything….

So, update your links. Maybe I’ll get ambitious and put something more on the hosting site. Vint has been trying to convince me to switch to another blogging software like Wordpress and I’ve been looking at b2evolution.

We’ll have to see….

Project Open Letter - Round 2

I see that Second Life is once again, venting copious amounts of smoke. But gosh darn it, we got this wonderful voice stuff that seems to be greeted with all the excitement of a fruit cake at Christmastime. Oh, let’s not forget, we’re about to get a new First Look viewer with Windlight…. Oooh look! Pretty colors… look at the fires coming out of the grid now….

Let’s not forget the gambling ban. Yeah, and you’re really gambling rezzing an object these days, that’s for sure. I almost tremble at the thought of rezzing a no-copy object these days. I’ve had at least 6 items go “poof” on me - gone for good. I can’t really go back to the vendors and ask for another copy. Some of these items I bought months and months ago.

I can see that memories are short at Linden Labs. We have been given lip service to what should be a reliable service. It’s by no means anywhere near reliable. Is the answer we need to pay? Something? Would that help? A smack upside the head? Emails to the Linden Lab’s board of directors? What is it going to take?

This is what always slays me, you have a fairly large core group of committed users (i.e. customers) who are more than willing to pay - yes - probably pay - for a fun and reliable experience (because we’re addicts really and we’re not getting our fix) and we’re being given the finger (you know - the universal middle finger…)

I see that Project Open Letter has stirred again. Okay - I think it’s time to find the torches, get them lit, grab the pitch forks, and as Henry the V said, “Once more into the breach….”

Why Can’t Second Life Just Work?

I don’t play in other MMORPGs… do they have as many problems as Second Life has? Every time I think SL has turned the corner, it goes wrong. I was actually going to make a post congratulating them on making teleporting reliable, when it started failing on me. I think I have the draft in Blogger…. Losing items you bought, can’t login, etc, ad nasuem. It just goes on and on. Oh, and people being Ruthed left and right last night.

The other day I had a n00b accuse me of Ruthing him. hehehe Ooooh - the powers I hold.

Is it because they don’t have enough money? I’d gladly pay $9 US a month for a much more reliable Second Life.

Oh, and the grid is down right now….. But if it was up, you could use that swanky voice feature. Maybe someone needs to track and publish uptime metrics on them. They would be abysmal. I would be in the 85-90% range at this point.

Second Life Blogger Party August 19th

Mark your calendars for August 19th, 2pm SLT. JellyBean Madison and her husband HawksRock Gunawan will be hosting. I’ll close voting for the theme on August 14th. Vote now if you haven’t already.

Who’s bringing the strippers again?
