Second Life Sex Language Problems?
I was talking with a fellow Second Life blogger, a famous photographer one from one of the low countries that didn’t want to be identified….
The discussion migrated to a topic we hardly ever talk about… Second Life Sex or SLex. She indicated that the problem was that English was not her native language but she knew more dirty words in English than any other language (funny how that is - I thought Russian was the top of that pyramid - or was that German?).
Anyway, is this a serious problem in Second Life? I mean, are we not getting enough SLex because language is holding us back? It also sounded like several of these low countries needed to form some new language committees. Perhaps they need a subcommittee on SLex talk. I know Tiessa did some reading on the subject to improve her already impressive skills.
Also, I’m curious to the multi-lingual who read here - confess, when you SLex, is it English or your native tongue?
Maybe this is a business opportunity, like the Xcite business - SLex talk. Learn to emote like a pro in 30 days? Orgasm in 5 different languages in a week?

Yes, it can be a problem. I am gathering my courage to write all the things that bugs me in those precious moments. Stay tuned….
And… I don’t feel English is so good with words when we come to those red and blue balls.

*tries not to blush before even typing*
Even though german is my native language, I never had SLex in german, but that’s because I never had SLex with a german-speaking girl. So my SLex experiences were all in english language.
And I have to agree that with using english, it sometimes happens that you search for the right word or feel like you can’t quite express what you want to say … but as your “friend” said, it’s not about finding dirty words, but more about describing things in more detail or not using the same words too often.
Generally, you can learn from your (native-speaking) partners as well as from reading stuff like Katrina’s blog and improve your “skills”. But the idea of taking courses sounds interesting, too

Speaking of which… I never had sex in my human’s mother tongue. Not that it is hard to find a partner who speaks serbian/croatian/bosnian… but, that is not me. My (avatar’s) mother tongue is english. At first I thought it is strange, but it is just one more of the weird facts of the metaverse.

although She Who Pulls the Strings in RL is from a lowland too (and wondering who that mystery blogger and photographer might be..?***), I am an (sort of) english speaking avatar, same as dandellion..
I the heath of the action, I can eventually switch to spanish, which is Her RL mothers tongue, and I consider my “emotional” language..
dont remeber though.. its been a while, and when pasion eters, reason leaves the building..
*** mmm.. keeps on wondering.. or should it be that strange Cat that, when we first met in her studio, insisted on speaking french with me, while it isnt her nor my language..??

i’va actually never had slex in french, my practice has always been in english and so after so long doing it french would probably be awkward.
english also feels more natural to me, i’m able to express myself much more romanticly in english then i can in french.

So do the multi-lingual avatars think that English is the language of Slex for them? Is that by default?
Obviously if you only speak one language, SLex is going to be in that language.

Orgasm in 5 different languages in a week?
LMAO. Meta-orgasm that is, I assume?
Anyway, I did not say it was ‘because’, I said it was one of the reasons not too.
And my vocabulary in ‘dirty Dutch’ is still larger then in ‘dirty English’. Fact is, in the lowlands we do not dub our movies, so one is bound to pick up some English from those. So if they would just show more French, Spanish, Russian and Japanese movies, the problems would solve themselves. *grins*

In my reading of the history of the English language, most of the obcene “dirty” words come from the Dutch.
BTW English is mostly Freisland with a bit of French.
