It’s End of the Beginning.

Or is it the beginning of the end for Second Life?  Google, the new 300 pound Gorilla, is now competition.  Meet Lively.  It’s not Second Life by no stretch of the word, but it is Google.  SL needs compeition.  It would hopefully drive them to improve things….

Google doesn’t always make popular programs – anyone ever use Google Talk?
But no doubt, LL could use a kick in the ass to improve SL.

I use GTalk all the time… I like its simplicity. It gets the job done. :)

Yes, Google doesn’t always do it right, but they do know how to scale, something Linden Labs does not know how to do.

well i think google will do it step by step
right now its only for chatting purpose

One major advantage they took is of the 30 mb client software and higher end internet connection requirement of SL.

And google is not in a hurry to capture the virtual world i think
Since its launch in 2003 SL has not been able to capture global attention – majority of its users are fmr US and Australia and in total 9 mn only

even thought it generated $1.5mn daily still it has long way to go
