Okay, I am behind the curve, I’m giving another time addicting thing a whirl, Twitter. Zoe is doing it, I kinda looked at BlogHUD as more of a SL Twitter, but maybe this is something else to play with.

The Ginko Bank insolvency has actually hit someone I know. Saur Holt seems to have taken a real financial hit on the events. She’s upset about it, and alas I’m sure there’s nothing to be done about it. To try to help her financially recover, she is running buy two outfits over 250L and get one FREE of same or close to same price. After you buy two outfit send Saur Holt a notecard with your name and the name of outfit, at the end of the day she will look over her records and send the outfit to you.

Vint Falken took this great picture of me dancing in one of Saur’s really cool dollie outfits. It comes complete with a pull string (but the AO is not completed yet).

So - if you feel the need to expend some Lindens on some cool outfits, head over to Saur’s store at Forsaken Enterprises (148, 223, 501).

Okay, so it looks like I might be doing this insanity for a while, so I bit the bullet and got a domain…. VeyronSupercharge.com is now operational. The main page is lame right now - I’m working on it, but the blog is being redirected. I have the blog redirecting by Feedburner, so if you subscribed using Feedburner - which as been the default for sometime, you won’t need to change anything….

So, update your links. Maybe I’ll get ambitious and put something more on the hosting site. Vint has been trying to convince me to switch to another blogging software like Wordpress and I’ve been looking at b2evolution.

For Dalien’s Rez Day party…. Vint as usual took some great pictures. I had a great time on the pole and lots of fun teasing Dalien. I also had a lot of fun dancing with Vint.

Dalien had lots of fun helping me take off my slinky little skirt… Hmmm, maybe I should have more adventures on the pole more often. Maybe Vint and I need to go dancing more often….

I also caught Vint giving Dalien a rezday gift in person on bloghud….

I’m sure this has happened to most of you. You make a “friend”. Exchange cards. Maybe you talk to this person now and then, or whatever. Then some day you realize, they are no longer on your friend list. They’ve cut up your card.

I can’t really recall cutting up any card from an avatar I’ve exchanged with. I have heard that some avies prune their friends list now and then. What do you do? Do you prune your list?

Do you try to find out why they cut your card? Let them go? It seems to be an area of etiquette in Second Life that has no Real Life counterpart.

Well seems like someone in Second Life is up to shenanigans over supposed patents of a fairly neat tool Dalien came up with and gives away. I believe this avatar, Jerry Martin, is full of smoke. It costs a non trivial amount of money to file a patent, and you need to do a patent search to search. To get it done right, you usually need a patent lawyer. As of 2005 the US Patent and Trademark Office was about 4 years behind in examining patent applications.

If Mr. Martin actually applied for a patent, and IF there is no prior art the USPTO has found, and IF there is no challenge to the patent, he might have a valid patent by 2011? Which by then should be worth about $2.53 - US.

Depending on how the patent is submitted is might even be easy to circumvent the patent by making a minor change to the algorithm used in the process.

I was searching around for some additional pirate accessories for the upcoming party, I remembered this really cool pirate car from this blog entry in Motorati.

Wow! Very cool…. So, I decided to teleport over to the Pontiac sims and start searching for the car, perchance to see if it is for sale. Not much luck finding anything. Well, while I’m here, I might as well check out the bikini car wash.

Very nice build - complete with some freebies and some other interesting things. Too bad I missed the grand opening.

Then I noticed a large group of avatars, so I decided to investigate.

It turns out it was caLLie cLine giving a tour of Motorati with two of the Motorati girls. The tour was just ending, and I was about to leave when Amanda Shinji popped in to see Callie. She’s the builder of the car I was looking for! After swapping some fashion information and she told me where the car is on display - out in front of the Pontiac sim. She is quite amusing - having built several of the cars in on display.

She is also the first girl I think who knew what a Veyron is. In fact, when I asked her if she saw the video of the Veyron doing 250 mph, she said she did. Described it as “like watching a porn video.” LMAO.

Amanda has a blog but not a lot of traffic - and I’ve invited her to the party this weekend and the blogger group. Maybe if we’re lucky she’ll bring the Pirate car to at least display.

Daphne and Tamara have a really good podcast out this week on clothes for the other half out there in Second Life - yeah, the guys - or what the guys need to buy for clothing. As usual, it’s a pretty entertaining podcast. The Traveling Avatar is even on the show. The blog post has a pretty good selection of SLURLs of places for men to shop.

So, let’s see you guys starting to look a bit sharper. And like the girls say at the end of the podcast - you guys can change your clothes more often than once a week….

Yes, it’s true, my first name is taken from a supercar. It was sort of an amusing name I decided on when I was stuck trying to come up with a name for Second Life. The kicker was when the surname Supercharge was available when I signed up.

No, I’m not a motorhead, but it is the name of my computer workstation at work (which is another story in itself). So the name fit, so to speak. Even if you’re not into cars, it is just entertaining to watch such an incredible piece of engineering strutting its stuff.

The Veyron itself is named after Pierre Veyron, a Grand Prix winner from the 1930’s to 1950’s.

The Veyron is a car of superlatives. It pretty much exceeds all other cars in almost every category. Top speed is 250 mph (405 kph). Don’t believe me? Watch this video.

It holds the record for a production car of the 0-1oo-0 acceleration test. That is go from zero to 100 mph to zero again. It did it in 9.9 seconds. Not bad for a 4000 pound car. It beat out a Suzuki superbike. Powering this speed demon is a W16 engine with four turbo chargers developing at least 1001 horsepower. It has full time four wheel drive and more torque than most semi-tractors rigs. It has a seven speed transmission….

You get all that, air condition, a car stereo, leather seats, cell phone for an easy $1.2M US.

I tend to buy freebies or near freebies pretty often. It is a symptom of being a shopaholic. So over Christmas I was down at Eventide… um, looking around for a present for a friend (yeah that’s it). And Xcite! had these cute little naughty bears to buy for L$1 each. So I bought a few and stuff them into my ever expanding bag of infinite holding (inventory).

After Vint kicked out Bella, I felt her place needed some animal company again. Dalien and Gideon agreed completely with me. And besides, these bears had some cute, loving things to say. Mmmm…. I knew Vint would agree with me.

Mmmm…. Sometimes you need to claim ownership to things that are yours, especially your mantourage…. What better way than to scribble your name on it. I can thank Vint for doing the branding tattoo for me. What a friend.

In addition to seeing Gideon last night, there were a few other interesting people there. TheDiva was there spinning tunes and getting me up to speed on Gideon’s modus operandi. TheDiva has a pretty interesting blog, the Fashion Police, and keeps a pretty interesting blog on The Diva’s Diary.

Another pair of celebrities at the party were Daphne Abernathy and Tamara Kirshner of the blog and podcast Going Broke with Daphne and Tamara. I’ve been listening to the two of them for their first couple of podcasts, and they’re pretty good. They’re giving out some good fashion advice and some interesting interviews with the designers in Second Life.

I might have missed a few other people there, as I came late. Oh, and the contest for the L$500,000 is also pretty interesting. You just have to submit an idea. They have some concepts on the Coke pavilion to get you started.
