Own Veyron!

Yes you can now own Veyron.  Well, at least a photo of Veyron from that uber photographer, Vint Falken.  It’s a real life high quality photo Vint took of yours truly.  But that’s not all, I’ll sweeten the pot by offering an in world shot of me with the winner of the auction.  But that’s not all!  I’ll wear whatever you want in my inventory, or if you have something in mind, whatever you want to supply….  Think of the possibilities here….   Hmmm….

Check out Vint’s blog page for the rules and how to bid on the photo.

Usefulness of the BlogHUD

I’ve been using BlogHUD now for a while and I’ve found it to be kinda fun and useful. What I really like is the upload snapshot feature where you send a postcard to BlogHUD and then they post it. I tend not to use the actually HUD that much, because it doesn’t include a picture. It’s something like SnapZilla, but you can link BlogHUD into your “real” blog. I’m working on doing something more like that.

I am working on some layout changes or blogging software changes to accommodate the shots.

The biggest part of shooting pictures with the BlogHUD is what is called in the photographic world reportage photography. Rather than artistic photography, something that Vint does, this is more of a picture as I see it. Second Life changes so fast that it can be disconcerting at times. What’s here today is gone tomorrow, usually without any warning. People disappear. I started looking at BlogHUD of a photo album of my life and experiences in Second Life from time to time.

And everyone now and then I score a candid shot, or a famous Second Life person, or even myself having way to much fun flirting, just like any reporter does….

If you don’t blog now, you can get a limited copy of the BlogHUD for free and the full features version is L$900 with lifetime upgrades. Actually a pretty cheap price. Give it a try, you might really enjoy it and save some of your own memories.

Viewer Issue

I’m having an annoying issue with screen captures - it might not necessarily be the Second Life client, but I’m not sure. I’ve opened a bug report with Linden Labs. Torley has been real helpful in trying to track it down. It seems to have started with the last 1.15 release maybe. I’m getting an ugly black band across the center of a high res screen capture. It makes a screen capture pretty much useless. I’m going to tinker around more with it to see if it might be anything with my system or the client.

Has anyone else seen this sort of thing before or currently? There are some JPEG2000 capture shots in the bug report. If you need a viewer for JPEG2000, try IrFanView - it’s free.

Second Life Graphics to Get a Boost?

Linden Labs buys a company…. They buy Windward Mark and promise to improve visual quality within weeks. Hmmm…. Well, visual quality would be a nice thing. I’m less annoyed about this sort of activity rather than focusing in on stability. The photographers in Second Life should be happy.

But they do need to focus on stability, some of these bugs are pretty stupid….

Gotta catch a plane…

Second Life Bikini Project

Last Sunday, I made a comment about having a flags of the world on Bikini ’s while we were having a good time and I had put on a USA bikini. Vint has taken that idea and is really running with it - she has started the Second Life Bikini Project. In case you don’t have a Bikini for your country, she has a Photoshop template for making your own.

After much internal debate, I’ve also decided to try to Photoshop up - improve upon - the pictures I have been taking in world. I have never worked with a purely computer generated image. I’m used to working with Real Life photographs I take, so this should be an interesting experience.

I’ll be seeing if I can produce a few good shots myself.

About last night….

Vint, Zoe, Wrath and I were out the other night and had a pretty good time. Vint and Wrath have some good shots of the adventure on their blogs, including some that I took of Queen Vint on the throne on Snapzilla.

All and all a pretty good time, even more fun when Wrath went into the sauna in the castle while we were in the hot tub. There’s even another bikini to be seen….

Interesting Book to Read on the Beach

Found an interesting book for Veyron to read on the beach, the Kama Sutra. Then suddenly this killer whale started jumping out of the water near me. Must have been a boy whale or something….

Here’s a picture I took for a contest a while back…. Now that Summer is nearing, this might help to warm things up and it will make Supernovas happy….

Yes, it’s true, I wore a Yellow Polka Dot….

I took Vint down to Phreeq Malt Shoppe in the Ride Sim the other day. I was going to do some rah rah for OMG Magazine, for who I model for from time to time. I am Miss April in the 2007 Fantasy Garage Calendar, and you can find a picture of me in the current issue of OMG with Mistina Vavoom on the cover. It is fun to model now and then and I like to work with Korbin.

Anyway…. I dragged Vint (she really struggled) down to the Malt Shoppe to see the car show contest and take some pictures of her own. The show was fun, and Vint had a good time taking pictures of me and someone else I posed with, Vincent. Who I think she expressed some interesting adjectives about, but I let her speak for herself.

Korbin has some of the pictures he took up on his OMG blog and I suspect Vint is hard at work slaving away to do her usual magic in Photoshop.

Vint has taken some really excellent shots of me before for a contest - I was made up to be a vampire of sorts. I think she got some pretty good shots, so I’m anxious to see the final versions.

On the Beach

I’m trying out something new on the blog…. some pictures. As some of you have probably noticed, I do some pictures from time to time. Vint has taken some really good pictures of me in the past. In real life, I do some of my own photography with a Canon DSLR and use Photoshop, etc, but here in SL, I’m being lazy. Vint also does a much better job on playing with post processing the photos she takes.

Anyhow, here I am, on the beach down at Apez.biz sim. It’s near my place, and a quiet sim to work in with a nice beach I can rez objects. I took this shot for SL Next Top Model, but never used it. Which is another interesting story….

The swimsuit is from Chic Boutique, one of my favorite stores.
