Give all your inventory to someone, or better yet, a few people (not new avatars)and reverse your credit card charges. They'll delete you but you can get back with another avatar. Just don't use anything that will associate you woth the old one, i.e. email address. Over time your inventory can be passed through friends and eventually back to you all laundered and clean.
